MJS Met Museum Trip
Veni, Vidi, Vici! Thanks to a grant from MEF, the 7th Graders of MJS came, saw, and conquered the Metropolitan Museum of Art!
MJS Social Studies teachers, Erik Lih and Rich Newbery, planned an exciting trip for the 7th grade to the Met, which is full of exhibits that have a direct tie-in to the 7th grade social studies curriculum. Students had a picnic lunch under Cleopatra's Needle, an obelisk monument in Central Park, and then explored the museum’s ancient civilizations exhibits and completed a scavenger hunt. Students came face-to-face with ancient artifacts that made history come alive, as documented in these student-generated photos!
