Laptops for MHS Physics Students

An MEF grant funded the purchase of 24 laptops and a cart for the Madison High School Physics Department.

The new laptops are a welcome addition as all 9th graders are enrolled in Physics with 3 additional AP classes for students in grades 10th – 12th. Computer work can be done in small groups, pairs and individually. Even with group work, it is more meaningful when students have an opportunity to work individually and then discuss it together. Many lessons require computer-based technology for connecting peripherals or using specialized software. Additionally, the new laptops support high-speed cameras which were previously awarded by the Foundation to the MHS Physics Department. As the entry point to high school science, physics is a pivotal experience to engage students.
